Breaded chicken breasts are a staple in our house. It's Simple yet versatile.
We all know making dinner can be a chore, but this quick and easy breaded chicken is sure to limit your time in the kitchen and leave you reaching for another piece. Anytime I'm in a crunch for time or don't know what to put out for dinner, breaded chicken is on the menu for that meal. We love it with almost everything from pasta salad to potatoes. A recent hit is a breaded chicken sandwich with butter lettuce and creamy ranch. Mmmmmm.
This recipe has no egg dread, of course.
This is another great egg free recipe for all the allergic babes. My husband can never order any dish with breaded chicken at a restaurant because of the egg dread. For this recipe, we'll be using heavy cream in place of eggs to keep the breading together. I've heard of using soda but heavy cream works great!
Everything but the Bagel Breaded Chicken
CRISPY breaded chicken that is perfect on a bed of salad, sandwich, or enjoy as is!
Ingredients
- 3 chicken breasts
- 1 cup Bread crumb
- ¼ cup Flour
- 4 tbsp Everything but the Bagel seasoning
- 1 cup half and half or heavy cream
- 1 tbsp Italian seasoning or oregano
- 1 tbsp salt and black pepper
- ¼ cup olive oil
- Squeeze of lemon optional
Instructions
- Butterfly chicken breasts and pound each breasts into 1/4 inch thickness.
- Season both sides of the breasts with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. More or less of pepper as your liking.
- For dredging, prepare 2 separate shallow dish of cream and combined flour, bread crumb, and Everything but the Bagel seasoning.
- Dip the breasts in cream first then roll them in the breadcrumb mixture. Make sure the breasts are covered real well with breadcrumb by pressing down with your hands.
- In a large frying pan, add in olive oil and turn to a medium high heat.
- Once oil is hot, drop in the breasts. Fry for 3 minutes on each sides. The breasts should have a deep golden brown appearance. The frying time may be longer depending on how thick the breasts are. If the breasts are pounded to 1/4 inch thick, it should take around 3 minutes.
- Give the crispy breasts a squeeze of lemon on top. Enjoy!
Everything but the bagel chicken was phenomenal! The lemon sets it off perfectly. Even my two year old loved it!
