Crunchy chili oil
Chili flakes infused in oil with crunchy bits of scallions.
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp Red pepper flakes
- 2 Large shallots, thinly sliced
- ½ cup Avocado oil
Instructions
- Add red pepper flakes to a small jar and set aside.
- Bring oil in a small pot to a medium-high heat. When oil is hot, drop in shallots. *Oil is hot and ready for frying when a cooking thermometer reaches about 350℉ or can test by dropping a chopstick in the oil to see if it bubbles.
- Fry shallots until deep golden brown which should take about 5 minutes. Remove the pot from the stove and carefully transfer the shallot-oil to the jar with pepper flakes.
- Stir the mixture and allow to cool before handling. Enjoy as a condiment on your dishes!
